In the sign of IoT: Mitutoyo at the world’s leading quality management trade fair CONTROL
Innovative new products, outstanding inline measuring and data management solutions and groundbreaking measuring devices that are among the fastest and most accurate: A visit to the Mitutoyo booth at the CONTROL fair (May 7-10, 2019 in Stuttgart) grants fascinating insights into the domain of ultra-modern premium dimensional measuring.
Metrology is at the heart of quality management in manufacturing industry branches. Thus, the world’s leading trade fair for quality management CONTROL from May 7 through 10, 2019 in Stuttgart is of great significance.
With a focus on data management and IoT solutions, Mitutoyo, being a worldwide leader in manufacturing precision metrology instruments, displays ultra-modern high-speed measuring solutions for all branches and any purpose at this year’s CONTROL show: The booth of no less than 540 square meters boasts a wealth of products, ranging from high-quality precision calipers to high-end vision measuring systems, form and surface roughness testers as well as state-of-the-art CNC coordinate measuring machines. The booth in hall 7, number 7401 is visible from afar with a large MITUTOYO logo.
The focal point of the MITUTOYO trade fair is – amongst others – the topic „Internet of Things (IoT)“ and “Statistical Process Control (SPC)”, one of the most outstanding strengths of the Japanese premium manufacturer. The ground-breaking, versatile IoT suite MeasurLink enters the market in a new generation. Version 9 features, among many others, the outstanding new IoT feature “MT Connect” that enables direct access and numerical data streaming from DAQ sources anywhere in the world via a web URL, without the need to connect to a remote database. Likewise new: The practical “Real-Time Dynamic Gage Data” takes care of charting and collecting dynamic measuring data at high sampling rates and of discrete recording. Streaming (current) data is displayed by a dynamic meter and a dynamic indicator bar.
The Japanese metrology specialists are extremely fond of a novelty by name of MiSTAR, a highly modern, brand-new cantilever-type CNC 3D coordinate measuring system. The youngest CMM of the Mitutoyo portfolio is designed for production environments and ideally combines automated measurement with flexibility, reliability and easy operation. A high drive speed and an excellent acceleration make for quick measuring. The specified accuracy can be accomplished between 10 and 40°C, the resolution comes to 0,1 µm.
Moreover, Mitutoyo streamlines the range of Quick Scope vision measuring machines by introducing a new, highly modern system named “Quick Scope QS-L/AF“, replacing various existing CNC models of the series. It boasts a high-speed auto-focus, a new 3-MP camera and a new, powerful choice of lenses.
The caliper with a measuring range of 300 mm is replaced by a successor in two versions that boasts a number of profound improvements. Thanks to the adoption of the electromagnetic induction-type ABS encoder, the new caliper can be used without concern for contamination on the scale face during measurement. To prevent visual fatigue and add to working comfort the designers raised the character size of the display digits to as much as 11 mm. Additionally, Mitutoyo accomplished to extend the caliper’s battery lifetime by an enormous 33 per cent to 20,000 hours.
The Japanese premium manufacturer also launches a new, enhanced generation of the revolutionary “Quickmike” micrometer. The speedy spindle feed of 10 mm per rotation along with the new IP65 protection class, an enhanced battery life and vastly enlarged characters add new fields of application and boost user-friendliness.
